How a person acts under pressure tells a lot about what that person is like. A valuable strategy is to observe yourself when the pressure is off and when the pressure is on, notice the differences and see if you can learn something that may help you become successful. If you put a grape into a press and turn up the pressure what happens? Well of course the grape gets squashed but what do you get? You only get 4 things; grape juice, grape pulp, grape seeds and grape skins. Why? Because no matter how great the pressure you can only ever get what the grape is truly made of. This is exactly the same with human beings and mental pressure. When people are under pressure they often act in ways that they would not necessarily be proud of but they justify this by blaming it on the pressure or the supposed creator of the pressure. They say things like 'he made me angry' or 'work is stressing me' or 'my spouse is making me unhappy'. Just like the grape you can only give out what you have inside you. If you become angry it is because you are carrying the seeds of anger, if you become stressed it is because you already have the seeds of stress inside you, if you are becoming unhappy it is because you have already planted within you the seeds of unhappiness. Most people carry some negativity inside them but when things are calm it is easy to keep the negativity under control. But as the pressure increases the self control decreases until eventually that negativity is released. The greater the negativity stored inside the easier it is to release it. If you are full of stress and negativity then you are like a fat, ripe, juicy grape just waiting for the slightest amount of pressure so that you can burst open and let it all ooze out. How little pressure does it take to anger you, or make you unhappy, or stressed, or depressed, or feel defeated and give up, or become impatient, or bitter or resentful or mean to others, and so on? The easier a negativity is to bring out the more important it is for you to work on ridding yourself of that negativity. The first step is to accept that the negativity is not being caused by your circumstances, or others in your life, or by the government, or your family, or your responsibilities, or bad luck or anything else external to you. Only you can put negativity into yourself and you do it by what you choose to think and by the internal model of the world that you have chosen to create. Equally, only you can remove those negative emotions and replace them with positive emotions that will empower you, allow you to function well under any circumstances and help you create a rewarding and enjoyable life. It is your mind. what you allow into your mind is your choice and your choice alone. The next time you find yourself cracking under pressure and allowing the negativity to come out, think of that grape and make a decision to change what is inside of you once and for all.

Self Improvement Success Thinking
Success Thinking: You can have more control and actually be able to shape your future. Achieving success is possible for everyone when success thinking is learned and used.
If you think success, success will happen. It sounds like magic, success thinking, but that is exactly how it works! Before anything is realized in our lives, it is preceded by a thought. If you want shoes, you first have to think shoes. If you want to eat, you first think food. Without the thought, no action is taken and nothing is realized. In life, if you want success, you have to learn how to think successfully.
If at some point you have the thought to change a certain area of your life, deciding to create change is just the first step to making a transformation. Falling into the same approach to change that failed in the past will only lead to the same result. In order to get new results you have to change your mental patterns. Learn how to use success thinking and you will create the life you want.
It is said, “We become what we think.” In other words, we are shaped by our thoughts. When you were born, your brain contained over 100 billion cells. Imagine that! Granted, these cells had yet to develop any real circuit connectivity.
Over time, you developed synopses that became the road map to your thoughts resulting from environmental exposure. Everything you have seen and experienced has shaped and defined the patterns of your thoughts. These thoughts drive the engine of your actions.
Learning takes place in the region of the brain called the cerebral cortex. When we are actively learning we are consciously concentrating. Once we have an activity fully understood, our learning passes from the conscious to the unconscious. Think back to when you learned to tie your shoelaces, drive a car, or brush your teeth. These activities once required a great deal of our focus and concentration yet now we are able to perform them with very little or often no thought at all.
Think of all the activities you do without thought. Think about your breathing, your heart, your arms moving, walking. The “automatic brain” performs much of what we do.
Your brain develops automatic activity from every single experience, thought and emotion. The words you speak to yourself will determine your brain patterns. You need to once again become conscious and take an active role in your life.
When we fail, we fail largely because of our own self-limiting thoughts and partly because of our desire to make changes in our circumstances without changing our thinking. There are no magic bullets or magic answer that will solve your situations. There are no magic diets, magic exercise machines or get-rich-quick programs.
Success requires a shift in thinking. Success is not limited to a few arbitrary individuals. Success is only limited to those who learn how to think positively with the genuine belief in their ability to achieve. This means you have to change the way you talk to yourself.
Get actively involved in changing how you are thinking. Take a new mental approach and you will find your life changing as a result. The way to achieve a change in your thinking patterns is to use empowering affirmations. The words you speak are the ideas with which you train yourself and those around you to accept.
The only limitations on your life are the limitations you place on your life by how you think. In Tools-To-Life, the approach to changing your thinking is called “correctional thinking.” This method allows you to substantiate how you should think to achieve your goals and achieve self improvement. The result is success thinking that actualizes your ability to re-create your life and make it what you want it to be.

Ask Your Heart
In the course of my work, I ran a lovely Faery Wisdom workshop recently. I do love running those. They're a real treat for me, and people seem to go away inspired by what they find too. During the workshop we use guided meditations and oracle cards to help us find our 'wisdom', and one of the exercises I like to do before we 'choose' our card is to 'connect to our hearts'. As usual, when you run these things you don't always have time to practise what you preach and it's not an exercise I've done much lately. However, one of the participants reminded me, once again, just how powerful an exercise it can be when you're unsure of what direction to take or which choice to make.Basically it involves putting our attention in the place where our brain is and asking ourselves if we could have anything to eat that we wanted right now without fear of calories or whatever, what would it be? We take the first thing that comes to mind and share it with the group. The answers usually range from 'chocolate' to 'cream cakes' and all sorts of goodies! Then we take our attention down the place where our heart is (round about the middle of our chest) and ask the same question and listen for an answer (again taking the first thing that comes to mind.) Normally the answers are quite different! Salads, carrots, fruit and such are usually the answers we get. It's always interesting to note the difference between what our head says it wants and what our heart says it wants.I'd forgotten about this exercise, and when I was having trouble figuring out why I wasn't manifesting a special Cosmic Order I'd been working on for some time, I decided to give it a try again. I asked my heart if I really wanted the things I'd ordered. My heart said 'no'. This was a complete revelation to me! I'd spent years working on something that I thought was dear to my heart and I now find that I never really wanted it at all! For me this is wonderful, because I've now been able to modify my ideas and thoughts to take me in a new direction. It's not that I'm giving up on my original order; I'm just changing it around a little. And when I asked about this new order, my heart gave a resounding 'yes'! So now I can be sure that it will manifest because it is in alignment with my real hopes and dreams, and not just what my head thinks it wants. So why not try it for yourself? Whenever you've a choice or decision to make, don't rely on your head – ask your heart instead. If you do this regularly for small things, you'll get to know how well it works, and then, when you've a big decision to make, all you need to do is ask your heart.
